Farm machinery causes damage?
The Canora RCMP investigated a report that farm machinery was being driven at the intersection of Highway 9 and Highway 229 south of Canora on May 6, knocking down multiple light standards. Investigation is ongoing.
Body cameras in use
On May 6, members of the Canora RCMP were issued body worn cameras.
The cameras are worn by front line uniformed RCMP officers who will only activate their camera while in the lawful execution of their duties. An example of this is when contact is initiated with a member of the public for the purpose of a police investigation or to record police statements that would normally be taken out in the field as part of their duties.
In situations where there are concerns for police or public safety, or the video has investigational value, RCMP policy requires police officers to keep their body worn camera on and recording.
Vacant residence damaged
On May 6, the Canora RCMP were dispatched to a residential break and enter on Fourth Avenue East in Canora. Police investigated and learned a vacant residence was broken into and damaged. Suspects have been identified. The investigation is ongoing.
