The Yorkton Film Festival is proud to announce that it is now accepting entries for the 2017 Yorkton Film Festival. 2017 marks the festival鈥檚 70th year of celebrating the best in Canadian short film. 鈥淲e鈥檙e very excited to be starting another year of the Yorkton Film Festival,鈥 said Executive Director Randy Goulden. 鈥淲e鈥檙e looking forward to the entries this year, and we expect to have another great crop of Canadian films competing for the Golden Sheaf Awards.鈥
The festival is continuing a free submission period for Student Production films as part of this year鈥檚 submission process from October 12th until December 21st. 鈥淥ur jury committee made this recommendation last year, and we found it was a great way to encourage more student submissions. For many Canadian film students, Yorkton is their first festival; and we want to help start them off in their film career as best we can.鈥.鈥 Goulden said.
For all other categories, entry fees are set at Super Early Bird pricing from October 12th to November 18th. Regular submission rates for all categories come into effect on December 21st until close of submissions on January 31st.
