The Government of Saskatchewan has announced a renewed investment of $800,000 for the Culture on the Go program (CoGo). The funds will be divided between Creative Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Arts Board and distributed as grants to Saskatchewan artists for eligible projects.

鈥淲e are pleased to continue our support of Saskatchewan鈥檚 artists and performers,鈥� Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Ken Cheveldayoff said.听 鈥淐ulture on the Go helps make it possible for them to further their careers and share their art, music or performances with people in-province, outside of the province or internationally.鈥�

Working in tandem, the Saskatchewan Arts Board will fund projects that will increase access, grow audiences and build a greater appreciation for the arts, while Creative Saskatchewan will focus on the commercial side, providing grants to help individual performers, groups and businesses attend events where market interest has been established and where it has the potential to grow. In both cases, CoGo helps build awareness of Saskatchewan artists and the province鈥檚 cultural industry.

Since the CoGo program was launched, it has helped the province鈥檚 community arts organizations and schools present shows in their communities that have been enjoyed by thousands of Saskatchewan residents.听 The program has also helped Saskatchewan artists, performers, writers, publishers, dancers and actors reach receptive audiences and new markets for Saskatchewan cultural products around the province, across Canada and internationally.

Since it began in 2009, more than $7 million has been invested in the program.
