The Health Foundation is setting sail this October and it鈥檚 inviting Yorkton to come aboard.
The group is hosting its 23rd annual gala evening fundraiser at St. Mary鈥檚 Cultural Centre on Oct. 20. The always-popular event will feature music, raffle prizes, silent auctions, and a unique premise.
The gala鈥檚 theme is 鈥淎n Evening on the Titanic.鈥� St. Mary鈥檚 will be decked out to replicate the look and style of the famous ocean liner.
鈥淒ecorations will be fabulous,鈥� said Diane Rusnak, Chair of the Gala Committee. 鈥淚t鈥檒l be like walking onto the Titanic.鈥�
The dinner will be a special tribute to the Titanic. St. Mary鈥檚 staff will be using several recipes from the Titanic鈥檚 final supper during the gala. While the dinner won鈥檛 feature all 17 dishes from the Titanic鈥檚 last feast, it鈥檚 still expected to be a good meal. The event will also feature a signature drink called the Iceberg.
As always, the gala will be raising money for medical equipment. This year, proceeds will go towards a digital microscopy system at the Yorkton Regional Hospital.
Rusnak thanked the gala鈥檚 many sponsors and her team for making the popular evening event possible.
鈥淚鈥檝e got a fabulous committee,鈥� she said.
The gala starts with cocktails at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m.
