With a focus on Heart and Stroke Month, the Yorkton Film Festival is looking at the life giving organ as a part of their OPEN Cinema series.
My Heart Attack is the true story of a 鈥渘ice Jewish boy with Buddhist inclinations鈥� who suffers a heart attack. 鈥淭his film takes on a unique style, coming to a crossroad between documentary and animation.鈥� Said YFF Executive Director Randy Goulden.
Thirst For Life is a documentary which goes to the frontline of the wine industry, looking at the reported health benefits red wine has to be able to prevent things like heart disease and Alzheimer鈥檚.
鈥淲e鈥檝e all heard that red wine can be beneficial to our health, and Thirst For Life delves into the science behind that claim,鈥� added Goulden.
In addition to the two films, the Yorkton Film Festival is pleased to announce that the OPEN Cinema screening program is now being supported by Shaw Direct.
鈥淲e were very happy to be approached by Shaw, and to make this new partnership.鈥� Goulden said. 鈥淭he festival is always happy to help partners make an impact in our community, and both of us felt that their involvement serving as the presenting partner of the OPEN Cinema program was a good fit.鈥�
The event takes place on Tuesday, February 14th at the Yorkton Public Library at 7:00 p.m.
