Dinsmore Composite School issues end-of-year student, staff awards

The best and brightest of the past year at Dinsmore Composite School was spotlighted with the yearly Student Showcase award ceremony.

DINSMORE - With the end of June comes school events such as graduation ceremonies, as well as student award presentations, which have been happening at a number of local schools in the region as of late.

One of those was Dinsmore Composite School, which held its annual Student Showcase award ceremony on Wednesday afternoon, June 18.

Grade 10 student Sam Ellis was recognized for having his work published in Windscript magazine, while Grade 12 student Sierra Tully was recognized as a Schulich Leader Nominee, which spotlights students who demonstrate excellence in the STEM fields; Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics.

Tully was also the recipient of two other awards, being presented the SCC Student Leadership Award as well as the SRC President's Award.

The school also recognized the best and brightest on the senior Honour Roll by grade.

In addition to the student awards handed out, several DCS staff were recognized for their years of dedication with service awards from the Sun West School Division.
