YORKTON — The Yorkton Business Improvement District (YBID) has announced the return of Downtown CultureFest, a month-long celebration of culture and community in the heart of the city.
The festival will take place every Thursday evening in June from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at City Centre Park, with each event highlighting a different cultural community through traditional food, music, dance and art.
The 2025 Downtown CultureFest schedule includes:
- June 5 — Indigenous culture
- June 12 — Ukrainian culture
- June 19 — Jamaican and Indian cultures
- June 26 — Nigerian and Filipino cultures
"Downtown CultureFest is about celebrating the people who make Yorkton a vibrant and welcoming place to live," said Kaitlyn Kitzan, executive director of YBID.
"It’s a chance for our community to come together, experience something new and honour the traditions and stories that shape our city," added Kitzan.
The events are free to attend and open to all ages. Each evening will feature live performances, cultural displays, children’s activities, food vendors and more.
