Yorkton's Christian Macleod, Brennan Hotsko, Evan Gleason and John Mcleod won $100,000 EXTRA in April draw.

YORKTON — Four friends from Yorkton are celebrating after winning $100,000 on the April 26 EXTRA draw.

John Mcleod and his friends Christian Macleod, Brennan Hotsko and Evan Gleason matched the last six digits — 3542773 — of the EXTRA number to claim the prize.

“We used to buy tickets together but haven’t done it in a while,” said Mcleod. “We just started it up again and ended up winning.”

Mcleod was the one to check the ticket and share the news with the others.

“We all thought he was lying and had to confirm three or four times that he wasn’t,” laughed Gleason. “John sent screenshots to prove it”

Each member of the group has a different plan for the winnings. Mcleod said he is looking forward to buying a camper, while Gleason plans to put a down payment on a new car. Brennan and Christian Macleod said they intend to save or invest their shares.

“It’s very unbelievable and we never could have expected that it would happen,” said Mcleod. “We feel very lucky.”

The winning LOTTO 6/49 and EXTRA ticket was purchased at Fas Gas Plus at 150 Broadway St. W in Yorkton.

Sask Lotteries has been the primary fundraiser for more than 12,000 sport, culture and recreation groups across Saskatchewan for over 50 years.
