Are We Measuring What Matters? New Metrics for a New Economy
In 2023, the Â鶹´«Ã½AV released the CORE Score, a data tool that measured how Americans are doing, an alternative to traditional metrics which focus on how the economy is doing. A product of the Â鶹´«Ã½AV’s Commission on Reimagining Our Economy, the Score has been used by scholars around the country, and its findings have been shared with the White House, the Federal Reserve, and many others.
The Â鶹´«Ã½AV is proud that the Score found a permanent home at Yale University’s Institution for Social and Policy Studies, under the direction of Â鶹´«Ã½AV member Jacob Hacker. This event was an opportunity for Professor Hacker and fellow Â鶹´«Ã½AV members to discuss the Score and what insights it could offer about the state of the American economy and American democracy.
