MACKLIN - Unity RCMP have seized some suspected illicit drugs during a recent traffic stop.
On May 26 at approximately 7 p.m., Unity RCMP conducted a traffic stop on a truck speeding in Macklin.
As a result of the investigation, a man was arrested at the scene for driving while suspended.
During the subsequent investigation, officers located and seized multiple substances, including approximately 232 grams of suspected methamphetamine, approximately 35 grams of suspected cocaine, and approximately five grams of suspected psilocybin inside the vehicle. The substances will be sent to Health Canada for further testing. Officers also located and seized ammunition and a magazine inside the vehicle.
At the time of the incident, the male was also on numerous firearms and ammunition prohibitions.
Resulting from the continued investigation, a 33-year-old man, from Macklin, is charged with:
- one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine;
- one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine;
- one count, possession of ammunition while prohibited; and
- one count, possession of a prohibited device.
He is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on June 6.
