Update: Cause of house fire under investigation

The City of North Battleford advised on May 8 that North Battleford Fire Department was on the scene of a structure fire at 1672-101st Street.

NORTH BATTLEFORD - Update, May 8, 3:41 p.m.: The City of North Battleford has advised that 101st Street, between 16 and 17 Avenues has since re-opened to traffic.

The cause of the house fire remains under investigation. 

Original post, May 8, 2:29 p.m.: The City of North Battleford advised on May 8 that North Battleford Fire Department is currently on the scene of a structure fire at 1672-101st Street.

The fire began in the basement of the structure.

Three residents were able to exit safely.

Firefighters were able to rescue a dog that was in the structure after they arrived on scene. The dog has been returned to its owner.

There has not been an impact to any neighbouring structures, and a cause of the fire is under investigation.

Community Safety Officers, RCMP, and WPD Ambulance are on scene to assist.

Residents are asked to note that 101st Street between 16th Ave and 17th Ave is closed as personnel remain on scene.
