LA RONGE — The Saskatchewan government is allocating just over $122 million to invest in key transportation infrastructure in Northern Saskatchewan.

The Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways says an estimated $28 million project to improve about 25 kms of Highway 102 north of La Ronge and an access road at Sucker River remains on target to be completed by the end of 2025.

The installation of culverts for the project began in March 2025. The culvert installations are expected to be completed later this summer, pending weather.

The Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways said work to reinforce the subgrade beneath the road's surface is targeted to begin sometime in May, pending weather. The contractor for this Highway 102 project was awarded to Potzus Paving Ltd.

When this work occurs, motorists are reminded to slow down, obey all signage in work zones, expect one-way traffic and be prepared to stop.

The Ministry of Highways says they appreciate the patience and understanding of all motorists as this work occurs to improve Saskatchewan transportation system to support quality of life and export-based economy.
