After his worst outing of the season, New Britain Rock Cats left handed pitcher Andrew Albers responded with one of his best efforts of the season four days later.

Albers started his ninth game in the AA Eastern League Saturday and pitched six innings, allowing five hits, no runs and earning four strikeouts.

Albers is 3-1 on the season with the Rock Cats and has 65.2 innings, 73 hits surrendered, 26 runs, nine walks and 49 strikeouts.

The North Battleford native has aspirations of playing Major League Baseball some day, and his work ethic and numbers this season may warrant an opportunity in the not so distance future. Albers is second on the team in innings pitched and leads the team in strikeouts while carrying a 3.56 ERA.

June 5, Albers came out of the bullpen and in 1.2 innings had a 10.80 ERA allowing two runs and walking three batters during that time.

The Rock Cats are 34-27 this season and hold the third sport in the Eastern League's Eastern Division.
