Blake Tatchell wins team MVP award

In his final season with the Battlefords North Stars Blake Tatchell won the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Most Valuable Player Award. Tatchell was also the North Stars' MVP last season and he now has another MVP award to add to his trophy case.

North Battlefordms Blake Tatchell impressed a new fan base this season, as he suited up as a freshman for the University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolves. Tatchell capped his freshman season by winning the Rookie of the Year and MVP award.

In his final season with the Battlefords North Stars Blake Tatchell won the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Most Valuable Player Award.

Tatchell was also the North Stars' MVP last season and he now has another MVP award to add to his trophy case.

Thursday, at the University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolves' year-end banquet Tatchell was named the team's MVP. The rookie forward from North Battleford was the first freshman since the 2002-03 season to lead the team in points. He recorded a point in 18 of his 36 games, as he was the lone freshman to play every game this season. Tatchell finished the season with 25 points.

He was also named the Rookie of the Year. This is the second time Tatchell has won a rookie of the year award, as he was the North Stars' top rookie during the 2009-10 season.

Tatchell is one of 20 players from this season's roster eligible to return to the Seawolves next season as they finished with a 2-20-6 record in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association and a 4-25-7 record overall.
