John Paul II's basketball teams have successful start to the season.

Basketball season has started for the John Paul II Crusaders with tournaments over the past two weekends. The Crusaders senior girls basketball team hosted an eight team tournament Nov. 29 and 30.

Basketball season has started for the John Paul II Crusaders with tournaments over the past two weekends.

The Crusaders senior girls basketball team hosted an eight team tournament Nov. 29 and 30. The girls lost to Meadow Lake in the semifinal and lost to Prince Albert Carlton in the third place game to finish fourth overall. A very strong team from Warman was the tournament winner.

The senior girls travelled to Prince Albert St. Mary Dec. 6 and 7 for a tournament. John Paul II won all three of their games to win the tournament.

The John Paul II junior girls also hosted a tournament recently. The Crusaders won two games in the tournament, but lost by one point to Meadow Lake in the final to win the silver medal.

In junior boys action, John Paul II finished their home tournament with two wins against the North Battleford Comprehensive High School Vikings and the Jonas Sampson Stingers, but lost to the Holy Rosary Raiders.
