Two Battlefords boys enjoyed a successful weekend of hockey in North Dakota and Minnesota last week.
Keanu Foulds and Jake Â鶹´«Ã½AVgate play AAA spring hockey with the major atom SaskCan club in Saskatoon. It's an all-star team of sorts for young hockey players.
The team left May 30 for the 14th annual North American Pepsi Cup hockey tournament against 11 other teams from Canada and the United States.
The SaskCan boys came home as champions, finishing the tournament 5-0 and outscoring the opposition 26-9 in those games.
The tournament was topped off with a 3-2 victory over the Manitoba Colts.
Not only were Keanu and Jake part of the team, they were among the best players. Jake finished with seven points and Keanu brought home honours as the top scorer of the tournament with 11 goals and four assists.
The trophy cases for both Keanu and Jake got some nice additions already this summer with the gold medal last week combined with the bronze medal they won in the City of Bridges tournament over the May long weekend.
The boys will now take advantage of the rest of the summer with some fishing, soccer and camping.
