The North Saskatchewan River Hockey League season is once again upon us.
A roster meeting was scheduled for Wednesday in Edam and this weekend is the start of games in the six-team league, with one game Friday and two Saturday.
The season commences in Turtleford Friday at 8:30 p.m. as the Edam 3 Stars take on the Turtleford Tigers.
Saturday action sees the St. Walburg Eagles at the defending champion Wilkie Outlaws, game time 8:30 p.m. in Wilkie, in a rematch of last year's championship series.
Meanwhile the Edam 3 Stars go to Meadow Lake to take on the Stampeders, again at 8:30 p.m.
Sunday will see the Stampeders head to St. Walburg to play the Eagles at 8:30 p.m.
The season should be an exciting and entertaining one as always. Each team will play a 20-game schedule with two home games and two road games against each opponent.
The regular season will run until Feb. 8 and all six teams will be in playoff action, with the first round best of three, the second round best of five and the finals best of seven. The top two teams will have the option to either take the first round bye or to play in the playoffs.
