There is but one more draw in the New Horizon regular curling before the big cash spiel March 26.Still leading at this time is the Korpach rink; followed closely by Lambie and Horrell.
So it is that the next games played on Tuesday will be nail bitters as any one of these three could wind up on top of the spring session standings.
The games played March 12 saw firstly the Horrell rink score four in the fourth and carry on to win over Pauls.
Eugene Korpach kept his winning ways going even by letting the Hall rink score in the opening end, but then he led from then on.
The third game in the morning draw saw the Gordey crew start off with two, then they gave up three, however it was lights out for the Kjargaard after that.
In the afternoon, nothing but ones until the seventh end were scored when the Lambie group posted a deuce then went on to win by one over Krismer. It was a fast game, as they were finished two ends ahead of anyone else.
In the Scott versus Rogers match, which was the highest scoring game of the day, it was 8-6 coming home and the Rogers group were lying three when Alexander Scott threw the final rock of the game.It was an outside draw to the four-foot to cut Rogers down to one, and to win the game.
Doug Belyk and his group got off to a running start by scoring in the first four ends and they really didn't give up, teaching the Hagen crew a lesson in curling.
On the final sheet, it was the Forester four against the Wisner wise. This time it helped to import the Halls (Ralph and Doug) to the Forester group.Being there second game of the day they were hot, and they posted a second win for that team.
The draw will be posted next week for the Big Money Spiel. Everyone will play three four-end games. Each team will post a $20 entry fee, collect $8 for each win, but only $4 is they lose. What happens to the other four bucks - well somebody has to pay for the coffee.
