The men's and women's Affinity Credit Union Senior Provincial Championships were held last week with some local area representatives.
In Assiniboia, the men's team skipped by Glen Heitt and curling under the Twin Rivers Curling Club name went 3-4 through the round robin. Heitt's team lost to Gord Bell, Bryan Derbowka, Brad Heidt and Don Barber and beat Eugene Hritzuk 7-6, Ken Petruic 5-3 and Al Schick 8-5.
Heitt's team consisting of Daryl Eddingfield, Gary Maze and Bart Brown missed the playoffs and saw Bell's rink beat Hritzuk in the championship game.
The Unity Curling Club rink of Darlene Gillies, Linda Kloschinsky, Wanda Heitt and Tracy Heidt competed in Martensville in the women's provincial championship. The Gillies rink had a 3-4 record after wins over Merle Kopach, Brenda Goertzen and Delores Syrota. Cathy Inglis won the championship with an 8-2 win over Korpach.
