Teen charged following fatal pedestrian collision

BEARDY'S & OKEMASIS CREE NATION - A teenage girl is facing charges related to a fatal pedestrian collision.

Police are seeking information or a video to assist in the investigation.

The Prince Albert Provincial General Investigation Section (GIS) located the black Jeep on Beardy’s & Okemasis Cree Nation on May 21.

As a result of subsequent investigation, a female teenager was arrested shortly after.

The teenager, who can’t be identified as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with one count, fail to stop after accident causing death.

She is scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on June 18.

The deceased has been identified. He is not a Canadian citizen and efforts are underway to notify his next of kin. Police said in the news release that no further identifying details about him can be provided.
