                    Alta Charo is a member of the National Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV of Medicine and an expert on legal, regulatory and ethical issues in biotechnology policy. She has served on President Clinton's National Bioethics Advisory Commission, and many boards and committees advising local and national governments, the National Academies of Medicine and Science, the FDA and others on topics such as reproductive technologies, fetal tissue research, research ethics, stem cell research, human genome editing, drug and diagnostics development and many more. Charo has unparalleled insight into scientific, ethical and regulatory issues surrounding the governance of novel biotechnological applications, particularly those relating to emerging technologies in human reproductive and regenerative medicine. She is renowned for her sage and articulate contributions.
