                    Founding President of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribal College and first individual to hold the Endowed Chair in Native American Studies at Montana State University. Mann served as the Director of the Office of Indian Education Programs/Deputy to the Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Honored as National American Indian Woman of the Year (1987) and named one of ten leading professors in the country by Rolling Stone magazine (1991). Her work has had a substantial impact in Indian education policy and on the development of tribal colleges. One of the most visible role models for Native scholars nationally.
