Khaled Toukan is chairman of the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission. He has also served in Jordan’s government as minister of energy and mineral resources and as minister of education. He has been president of Al-Balqa’ Applied University, dean of the faculty of engineering and technology at the University of Jordan, and a research scientist at the Kernforschungszentrum in Karlsruhe, Germany. He earned a doctorate in nuclear engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1982.
