Susan Dod Brown Professor of Politics and Public Affairs. Produced multiple advances in understanding of American politics and the relationships between and within the government's legislative and executive branches. Work has produced new insights about bureaucracy, Congress, political parties, and the Presidency. Contributions in addition to being technically advanced, clarify questions of both historical and contemporary importance in American politics, such as the relationship between increasing political polarization and accelerating economic inequality. Cofounder and coeditor of the Quarterly Journal of Political Science. Books include Political Bubbles: Financial Crises and the Failure of American Democracy (with Keith Poole and Howard Rosenthal), Political Game Theory (with Adam Meirowitz), and Polarized America: The Dance of Political Ideology and Unequal Riches (with Keith Poole and Howard Rosenthal). Serves on the Executive Committees for the Julis-Rabinowitz Center for Finance and Public Policy and Center for the Study of Democratic Politics.
