SaskAlert says at 9:42 p.m. CST, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible.

SaskAlert says that at 6:14 p.m. CST, Environment Canada says tornadoes are no longer expected in the region.

SaskAlert says that at 5:46 p.m. CST, the tornado alert for the following areas is cancelled.

Previous post: Environment Canada has issued a tornado warning for southeast Saskatchewan.
The tornado is associated with a storm system just east of Estevan and west of Alameda. Affected areas include:
- R.M. of Browning including Lampman
- R.M. of Coalfields including Bienfait and North Portal.
According to the latest statement just issued:
"At 4:35 p.m. CST, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible.
"This thunderstorm is between Hirsch and Frobisher and is moving southeast and 50 km/h.
"Golf ball sized hail also possible.
"This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation.
"Tornado warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing tornadoes.."
Those in the area are urged to take cover and find a basement immediately.
As well, a tornado watch remains in effect for a wide chunk of eastern Saskatchewan from around the Yorkton area to the U.S. border.
Environment Canada says a "low pressure system is moving into Âé¶¹´«Ã½AVeast Saskatchewan which will trigger severe thunderstorms this afternoon. These severe thunderstorms will then move into Âé¶¹´«Ã½AVwest Manitoba by the early evening.
"Conditions are favourable for these severe thunderstorms to produce tornadoes. Large hail up to 6 cm, wind gusts to 110 km/h, and heavy rain are also likely."
