City of Regina opens applications for 2025 Winter Initiatives Grant

REGINA — The City of Regina has opened applications for its  2025 Winter Initiatives Grant (WIG).

WIG is a funding program that supports creative, inclusive, and engaging winter projects.

The city said local businesses, community organizations, and residents are encouraged to apply for the WIG.

A total of $50,000 in funding is available. Each eligible applicant could receive anywhere from $500 to $5,000.

Initiatives receiving funding must occur between Dec. 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026.

Some examples of eligible projects include free or low-cost sports or arts projects, community events, cultural celebrations, and light displays.

The city will prioritize Initiatives on getting residents outdoors, celebrating Regina's culture and heritage, being either free or low-cost to the public and ones that are new, innovative or haven't been funded by the WIG in the past.

Applications will be accepted until Sept. 11.
