REGINA - Construction has begun along Park Street to make repairs and upgrades in the area.
As of May 1st, the city closed a portion of the street between Ross Avenue and Dewdney Avenue to repair the roadway and sidewalks.
Park Street will also be completely closed from 4th Avenue to Ross Avenue, and the eastbound lanes on Ross Avenue at the intersection as of May 19th.
The city said weekend work will be completed on a "case-by-case" basis. This will help minimize disruptions to local residents and businesses.
Those in the area are reminded to watch out for signs while using caution.
"The Park Street Upgrade is a major project that renews an important trucking route and adds new sidewalks on both sides of the railway to help connect nearby residents to local businesses and transit stops," the city said.
There will also be new sidewalks built “on the east side of Park Street between 7th and 4th Avenue and on the west side from 4th to Ross Avenue."
