REGINA – One of Canada’s most wanted fugitives was back in Regina Provincial Court Tuesday. This time it was for trafficking fentanyl and cocaine.

Daniel “Juma” Drie Atem was brought back to Saskatchewan earlier this year after being arrested in Winnipeg. He is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 32-year-old Roman Miller on July 29, 2023, at the 2100 block of Broad Street in Regina.

A Canada-wide warrant was previously issued for Atem’s arrest and in April 2024 he was put on Canada’s Top 25 Most Wanted BOLO list.

Atem, who remains in custody, is now scheduled to appear in Regina court on Friday on the drug charges and on July 4 on the murder charge.
