Two women charged in bear spray robbery on St. John Street

Both accused appeared in Regina Provincial Court on Thursday morning

REGINA – Two women are facing multiple charges following a robbery in the 1800 block of St. John Street on Wednesday.

At approximately 11 a.m. on April 30, Regina police responded to reports of an assault and theft. According to authorities, the victim was allegedly bear-sprayed before having their cellphone stolen.

Officers quickly located two female suspects matching witness descriptions and took them into custody without incident. A search of the suspects uncovered a canister of bear spray and the stolen phone.

Eliza Agnes Kaiswatum, 22, has been charged with robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon, and failing to comply with a probation order. Amelia Brooklyn Faye Asham, 21, faces a robbery charge.

Both accused appeared in Regina Provincial Court on Thursday morning.
