Police ask for public's help after pedestrian hurt in hit and run

SASKATOON - The Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) is requesting the public's assistance after a hit and run involving a pedestrian over the weekend.

On May 18 at around 7 p.m., police were called to the 1900 block of 8 Street East to attend to an injured person. Upon arrival, officers learned that a 49-year-old man had been hit by a vehicle. The vehicle had fled the scene. The victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries that are not believed to be life threatening. SPS Collision Analysts attended to the scene and are continuing to investigate.

Anyone with information regarding this hit and run is asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300. Anonymous information can also be provided to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Businesses in the area are asked to check video survelliance for any possible footage that may have been captured.
