ESTEVAN — The Estevan Street Dance will be back in the downtown area this year.

The Downtown Business Association's popular annual event, which typically attracts more than 1,000 people, will be held in the 1100-block of Fourth Street July 19, and it will be the first marquee event to happen in the area since the start of the work on the downtown revitalization project last year.

In a letter sent to Estevan city council for a community event permit, Robert Godfrey with the DBA wrote the organization is especially excited to welcome Brayden King as the headlining performer. King, who hails from Weyburn, successfully auditioned for American Idol in 2023.

"We have excellent entertainment lined up this year," Godfrey told council during the June 23 meeting.

Godfrey said the DBA will also have an opening act that will be announced in the next week or so.

"It's just going to be a really awesome way to show off the improvements that happened on our Fourth Street downtown," said Godfrey.

The street dance will encompass approximately 33,500 square feet, including the Tower Café parking lot and the adjacent sidewalk and roadway.

Start time for the event is slated to be 9 p.m. Last call will be at 1:30 a.m. on July 20 and the end time is set for 2 a.m.

"As part of our preparations, we will co-ordinate with Chief Jamie Blunden of the Estevan Police Service and Hayley DeConinck, roads and drainage manager, to finalize arrangements for security, road closures and event logistics," Godfrey wrote.

"We are confident that the 2025 street dance will once again bring excitement to our downtown core, and we deeply appreciate the ongoing support of the City of Estevan in making this event a success every year."

City council approved the permit.

Tickets can be purchased from several DBA members or the .

Last year's Street Dance had to be held in the parking lot of the Estevan Leisure Centre due to the downtown work.
