ESTEVAN — The City of Estevan has announced that due to ongoing wet weather conditions, the annual Operation Clean Sweep initiative will be rescheduled to May 27-June 1.

It was initially scheduled to run from May 20-23.

In a news release, the city said the excessive rainfall has made it challenging to carry out cleanup activities safely and effectively, prompting the decision to delay.

"We appreciate the community's patience and understanding as we wait for drier conditions to ensure a successful and thorough city-wide cleanup and safe usage of the municipal landfill."

The updated schedule will see city crews targeting key areas throughout the week, including entrances to the city, public green spaces, and residential neighbourhoods. Yard waste pickup will now occur on May 29 in the north and May 30 in the south, with a free landfill weekend for city residents running May 31 and June 1.

Residents are reminded to bundle and bag their organic waste properly and have it placed on their driveway by 8 a.m. on their respective collection day. Visit  for full details and zone maps.
