Photos: Parade once again a highlight of Canada Day in Bienfait

Bienfait is bustling with Canada Day fun, featuring a parade, fireworks, live music, games, food and activities for all ages.

BIENFAIT — Bienfait has been a busy place on July 1 as part of the town's Canada Day celebrations.

A parade made its way through the community, with the Bienfait Weldon School serving as the start-finish line. Large crowds lined the parade route to see the floats and other entries, many of which were flying Canadian flags, and were decked out in red and white for the occasion.

The parade is among the highlights for July 1 in Bienfait. The day started with a pancake breakfast at the Bienfait Memorial Arena.

Conner Piche will perform in the arena at 4 p.m., and a talent show, which is new for this year, begins at 5 p.m.

The annual fireworks show is slated to start at dusk.

Other activities will happen throughout the day. The Bienfait Coalfields Museum is open. A cakewalk happened after the parade. The Bienfait Lions Club is hosting Bingo at the Bienfait branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, and the legion is selling hamburgers and hot dogs on its front lawn. The Garden Party is playing live music on the legion. A toonie swim happened at the town's swimming pool.

Canuckcade is on site with a Stars Wars bounce house, an octagon ring, human foosball/soccer, hamster/Zorb balls, axe throwing, a bounce house/slide and gelly ball shooting tag.

The firefighters and farmers will meet in their annual ball game at the ball diamonds.

Tammi Russett will provide face painting, while the Bienfait Public Library will have a photo booth and sparkle tattoos.
