Saskatchewan residents were once again very generous with their support for Telemiracle 43.
The 20-hour telethon ran from 9 p.m. on Saturday night to 5 p.m. on Sunday, and generated $5,619,214. Organized by members of the province’s Kinsmen and Kinettes, it featured the talents entertainers from throughout the province who were part of the provincial cast, and some well-known entertainers who were in the national cast.
A large number of volunteers worked on-camera and behind the scenes to make the fundraiser happen, and people of all ages made donations during the 20 hours.
The money raised will be directed to the Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation. It will be allocated to meet the medical needs of Saskatchewan people, and to support projects across the province.
Numerous individuals in the Estevan area have received the support of the foundation over the years, and Telemiracle has also funded projects in this community.
The next edition of the Mercury will have more on this story.Â
