This is a report winter summary report from the Lomond 4-H Beef and Homecrafts club.
In December they weighed their calves and had their Christmas party at the rink in Lake Alma where they skated and curled. The craft members made a Christmas project with Sheila Thackeray.
In January they had their club speeches. In Cloverbuds, Brayden Wimmer and Declan Underwood moved on; in juniors Amy Fradette and Raina Lohse moved on; in intermediate Heidi Fradette and Colby Durr moved on, and in seniors Mason Thackeray and Dylan Thackeray moved on. Heidi, Amy, and Brayden went to districts, and Amy qualified for Regionals. As well in January, the craft members sewed pajama pants with Paulette Howard.
In February they toured the Ashworths’ farm. February 29 was the Provincial 4-H ski day and members from the Lomond club skied at Mission Ridge.
Heidi Fradette, Raina Lohse, Amy Fradette, and Jenna Beblow Tytlandsvik curled at regionals in Melville. They advanced from there to provincials in North Battleford. Jenna couldn’t make it to provincials, so Andrea Fradette subbed in and the team made it to the quarterfinals.
In March they had a craft meeting with Katie Bloor and they made wooden farmhouse signs.
The rest of the year for the club is not decided, but the members are all working on projects at home and are hopeful to compete more this year.
