SGI is helping to make sure there is food on the tables of many across the province this holiday season, with a donation of $10,000 to Saskatchewan Food Banks.

In addition to the corporate donation, employees throughout the province collected more than 6,000 pounds of non-perishable food items to donate.

"We know that the holiday season is a time of need for many charitable organizations such as the Food Bank, and we want to support the hard work they do in our communities," said Andrew Cartmell, President and CEO of SGI. "SGI is committed to investing in our communities, and I am once again gratified by the generosity of SGI employees."

The money was presented to the Regina Food Bank, and will be distributed to Food Banks across the province.

"Food Banks across the province work tirelessly to ensure that the families they serve will have food on their tables at Christmas, but this year specifically, donations have been down for some of our provincial food banks," said Steve Compton, CEO of the Regina Food Bank. "It is because of the support of organizations like SGI, that there will be hope on the table for many families across the province."

Last holiday season, SGI donated more than $10,000 worth of books, more than 2,700 books in total, to the Saskatchewan Foster Families Association (SFFA).
