Government Relations Minister Lori Carr announced a total of 618 projects, representing more than $22 million of provincial funding, have been approved through the Municipal Economic Enhancement Program (MEEP) 2020.
This brings the total number of approved projects under the program to 1,359, worth $149 million.
The projects in the Weyburn and surrounding southeast region are as follows.
The RM of Weyburn was approved for their septage receiving station, which was constructed this past summer, receiving a grant of $152,927. (The photo above shows crews working on the construction in June.)
The RM of Fillmore was approved for a clay cap project on local roads, with the grant amount $22,051, and for a gravel trailer, with the grant of $10,000.
The RM of Scott was approved for the Farr bridge upgrade, in the amount of $28,027.
The RM of Tecumseh was approved for a grant of $38,950 for gravel crushing for their roads.
The Town of Radville was approved funding for street upgrades in the amount of $115,989, and the Town of Stoughton was approved for their main water supply line replacement in the amount of $93,280.
The Village of Forget was approved for a building demolition and removal of a municipally-owned building, in the amount of $7,905.
The Village of Halbrite had three projects approved, including the 2020 street dust proofing, with a grant of $6,500; a 2021 program of dust proofing in the amount of $6,500; and a waterworks system rewiring project in the amount of $4,100.
The Village of Lang was awarded a grant of $27,165 for their Official Community Plan and zoning bylaw preparation.
The Village of McTaggart had three projects approved for grant funding, including $4,000 for a mower; $7,391 for a gazebo, and $6,000 to replace a furnace in the village鈥檚 pump house.
The Village of Minton was approved to do street resurfacing, with a grant of $7,905.

The $150 million MEEP was announced in May.聽 It is a key component of the Government of Saskatchewan鈥檚 $7.5 billion, two-year capital plan to build a strong province and stimulate its economic recovery from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
MEEP 2020 funding must be used by municipalities by March 31, 2022.
