Lake Alma (cpd) - A trust fund has been set up at Spectra Credit Union for Trena Storle and her three boys whose home was extensively damaged by smoke and fire on Sept. 13. Luckily no one was injured. You can donate at any Credit Union and they will put the funds into the "Trena Storle Trust Fund". A benefit is planned for sometime in October.
Lance and Debbie Petersen moved the post office supplies from the building on Highway 18 to what used to be the Village Office over the weekend of Sept. 15 and 16.
School started at Gladmar Regional school on Sept. 4 for the new term with the same teachers but with Chris Abtosway as principal and Judy Thue as the RTI teacher. Bus drivers are Judy St. Thomas, Tina Fettes, Ken Hagen, Janet Holmes, Verna Rude, with Kevin Bloor and Janice Blackmore driving as subs.
Ken and Wanda Johnson spent the weekend of Sept. 7 to 10 in Melfort where they helped their grandson, Konner Johnson celebrate his birthday on the 8th. On Monday morning they met and had breakfast with Gloria Stushnoff, then traveled to Regina where they visited with Laura and Allan Larsen before returning home.
Rodney Ellingson took his mother, Annie, of Weyburn out to the Emmanuel Cemetery in the Maxim district on Sept. 16. They were very surprised to see that the grass had been cut and it was in picturesque condition. They expressed appreciation to whoever did the job as it was very nice to see that it was being taken care of. The Ellingsons have three babies buried in the cemetery as well as her husband and other relatives.
Delores and Duane Larsen of Weyburn spent Sept. 13 at the Roy and Myrna Larsen farm. They all enjoyed supper at Canam Country Inn at Oungre before they returned to Weyburn.
Josh and Coby Woitas had a five-pound 12-ounce baby girl, Alexa Brooke, born on Sept. 1 at the Regina General Hospital. Grandparents are Gerri and Joe Woitas and Allan and Sharon Buckner and great-grandparents are Amelia and Andrew Van Den Bossche of Weyburn and Richard and Darlene Bezugley of Regina. She is a sister for Jace, Kya, and Jett.
Gloria Gold and Jay Byker of Fortuna, Calif., arrived in Regina via plane on Sept. 12 and were met by Wayne Fladeland and brought to the farm home of Ted and Gertie Fladeland at Gladmar. Marjorie and Ed Ringness of Seattle, Wash., arrived by car that evening at the Fladeland farm.
On the 13th Loretta Jarvais, Bev Nerland, Marilyn and Ray Soziach of Regina came to visit the cousins as did Doug and Sandy Gold of Regina on the 15th. Diane Dedora of Monitor, Alta., arrived on the 14th and spent until the 19th with her parents and visiting with cousins. Gloria and Jay and the Ringness's left for their respective homes on the 17th and 18th. On the 14th Gloria Gold, Marjorie Ringness, Karen Fettes and Gertie Fladeland traveled to Weyburn where they visited with Belva Johnson at Tatagwa Nursing Home along with Hazel Friess of Estevan and her daughter Lynette Groenesdyk of Regina.
Dolores Hagen spent Sept. 17 and 18 visiting with her mother, Juverna Marken, in Swift Current.
Garnet and Elaine Roysum picked up his mother, Lorraine, in Weyburn on the afternoon of Sept. 14 and they went to Estevan where they met James Fonstad, Olivia and Kaybree for supper in celebration of Lorraine's Birthday. On the 16th Garnet and Elaine traveled to Wilcox where they helped their daughter-in-law, Lindsay celebrate her birthday.
Hallie and Brett Anderson of Weyburn gave birth to an eight-pound four-ounce girl on Sept. 18 at the Regina General Hospital. She has been named Bradie Megan and is a sister for Lila. Her grandparents are Kelly and Gaylord Roysum and Kelly and Clif Anderson of Weyburn. Great grandparents are Lorraine Roysum and Bob and Phyllis Massier.
