The Weyburn Agricultural Society Board of Directors, after much thought and consideration, has decided to cancel the Annual Fair this year after being held for 111 years.
This will include the 4-H Calf Show and Sale, the Light Horse Show, the Jackpot Show, Midway, Souris River Rodeo, Petting Zoo,听the Chuckwagon and Chariot races,听and the Rumble in the Ring. (The photos above show a number of the activities which were part of the Fair last year.)
鈥淭his was not an easy decision to reach. The fair has been a part of Weyburn for many years. However, due to the COVID-19 health crisis, it was felt that this was the only choice,鈥� said a statement from the board.
鈥淲e are concerned about the health and safety of our directors, volunteers, attendees and vendors.鈥�
The Ag Society plans to be back next year to amuse and entertain residents with the Fair.
鈥淲e would like to thank our loyal sponsors and the community of Weyburn, who have supported us so generously over the past years, you have enabled us to do many great things,鈥� said the Ag Society board.
