Bruins lose to Swan Valley in shootout

The Estevan Bruins suffered their first defeat of the pre-season with a 5-4 shootout loss at the hands of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League's Swan Valley Stampeders Friday night in Virden, Man. The neutral-site game was played in Virden's new arena.

Chris Daniels, Michael Hengen, Dylan Smith and Calder Neufeld scored for the Bruins (3-1).


Estevan led 2-1 after the first period and the game was tied 3-3 after two.


Steven Glass turned in a strong outing for the Bruins in goal.


Estevan's next pre-season action comes on Sunday when they visit the Yorkton Terriers.
