WEYBURN – The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Gold Wings dropped their mid-week game to the Swift Current Wildcats by a score of 5-2 at Crescent Point Place.
The Gold Wings had a good start to the game when Brooke Bassingthwaite scored unassisted only a minute six seconds into the start of the game.
The Wildcats tied it up later in the first period, and added two more in the second before Weyburn scored their second goal of the game.
Camryn Fuessel scored two-thirds of the way through the period, assisted by Kaydance Ray and Bassingthwaite.
This was all the scoring Weyburn would have, however, as the Wildcats added two more in the third period.
Amy Swayze was in net for the full 60 minutes, saving 36 of 41 shots.
The next action for the Gold Wings will be on Wednesday, Nov. 9, as they host the Notre Dame Hounds with the puck dropping at 7:30 p.m. They will then travel to Regina for a game on Saturday, Nov. 12.
