MOOSE JAW — The Moose Jaw Police Service has arrested a 20-year-old male following an incident on June 7.
At approximately 9:40 p.m., officers responded to a report of an armed robbery in progress at a business on the 500 block of First Street Northwest. The suspect fled on foot before police arrived.
Police searched the area and located the male who matched the suspect description. He was arrested without incident. A search of the suspect revealed a bladed weapon.
Through an investigation, it was determined that the male entered the business brandishing a bladed weapon, and attempted to assault an individual.
As a result of the incident, the 20-year-old male has been charged with one count each of robbery, assault with a weapon, and wearing a disguise. He will make his first appearance in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Monday, June 9.
