After starting practice just over a week earlier on the first day of school, the Canora Composite School Cougars senior girls volleyball team opened their season with a big win over Kamsack.

Even thought it was an overcast day that included a brief downpour, approximately 400 burgers were sold.

On Sept. 5, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched to a harassment complaint in Canora.聽Police learned one business owner reported the neighboring business owner for harassing their customers.

Students were looking forward to many firsts heading into the first day of school at Canora Junior Elementary School on Sept. 3.

Kody Rock is a graduate of Canora Composite School, but this year he is back in the role of newcomer.

Canora Composite School staff and its School Community Council have name the former weight room, the Kim Eiteneier Fitness Center.

"I hope to make a positive difference in all my students' lives, as they do in mine,鈥� said Lily Lozinski at the start of the new school year.
