– Views of more than 3,200 people heard through consultation process

( more photos below ) The Canora Cougars senior girls volleyball team is in a developmental year, but gained enough experience early enough in the season to place in the middle of the pack at a home tournament, said Coach Colin Knight.

At the age of 86 years, Helen Cymbalisty, beloved wife of the late Orest Cymbalisty, passed away at the Canora Hospital on October 4, 2015. Helen was born on June 5, 1929, to Stach (Tom) and Tekla (Tillie Moroz) Tomochko in Stenen, SK.

October 11 has been declared by the United Nations as International Day of the Girl. This day is celebrated world-wide to recognize girls and young women as powerful voices of change in their families, communities and nations.

In September, Saskatchewan’s unemployment rate was 5.1 per cent (seasonally adjusted), marking two consecutive years the province has had the lowest unemployment rate among the provinces. The national unemployment rate in September stood at 7.

Having lost the final home game on Thursday, the Canora Cougars senior foot-ball team has only one game left in the season. The Cougars are to travel to Raymore on Friday.

It’s been a number of years since the students and staff of the Canora Composite School organized a Terry Fox Run, but there was one this year, said Principal Kim Eiteneier.

Next week, the Canora Medical Clinic and therapies staff will transition into the re-pur-posed space created in the Canora Hospital for the Canora Health and Wellness Centre.
