TOGO — A GoFundMe page has been created for the , citing that the venue is in danger of closing.
As of May 5, $1,725 had been raised toward a $3,500 goal to help pay for operating costs.
The web page plea says, “Dear Patrons, our community centre is in danger of closing. We need donations to help pay for operating costs during these slow times.”
The community hall serves as a restaurant, post office, community events centre and AED location.
“I think we each gain enormously from its continued existence. If you would like to see the Togo Silver Thread Community Centre continue, please donate.”

The Silver Thread Community Hall Facebook page promoted an annual general meeting for May 8, which may provide more information on the plight of the struggling venue.
