Despite a muggy evening, the Yorkton Exhibition Truck and Tractor Pulls were packed with people both Friday and Saturday. Contenders this year included 鈥淕oin鈥 Towin鈥欌 driven by Grant Braun, a lime green, four wheel drive 1979 Ford F-100 with a 528 Ford engine and 900 horsepower that was able to pull the weight sled over 200 feet. Another great pull was by Tom Christensen driving 鈥淧lum Crazy鈥, a four wheel drive 1947 GMC with a 638 CU IN, Chev Merlin engine and 1200 horsepower. 鈥淧assin Time鈥, the last contender in the modified truck class, is a 1966 Ford F-100 with a 528 Ford engine and 1050 horsepower. It was able to pull up to 207 feet. In the smaller weight class, the first turbocharged mini to be built in Saskatchewan pulled its way through the course, 鈥淔rank-N-Stein鈥, driven by Karl Getz. Frank-N-Stein is a 360 Dodge featuring 3鈥 Turbo, Water/Methanol Injection and Firestone Pullers. Furthermore, a smaller course was set up for young riders to race around with mini tractor go-karts.
