Water rates set for current year

Yorkton Council set the water rates for 2011 at its regular meeting Monday. The rates will increase by 2.8 per cent, compared to a 3.9 per cent increase in 2010. "Prior to 2006, rate increases had been less than 1.4 per cent per year.

Diabetes campaign coming up

The Canadian Diabetes Association is asking Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV Saskatchewan residents to open their doors when a volunteer comes knocking May 1 - 15 and make a donation that will directly impact people affected by diabetes in their community.

Mill rates set for 2011

The City of Yorkton mill rates were passed unanimously by Yorkton Council at its regular meeting Monday. City uniform mill rate down from 23.75 to 23.25 mills. The decrease in the overall mill rate is because the garbage fee is not part of the taxes.
