At a recent virtual ceremony, Rogers Communications handed out Ted Rogers Scholarship to 26 Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan youth.聽

Charlee Mitschke of Langenburg is one of the scholarship recipients.聽

Mitschke recently received her diploma from Langenburg Central School.聽聽

鈥淚 was shocked when I found out I was the recipient,鈥� she told Yorkton This Week. 鈥淚 couldn鈥檛 believe it. I owe so many thank you鈥檚 to the Ted Rogers Scholarship Foundation.鈥澛�

Recipients, such as Mitschke are being awarded a $2,500 renewable scholarship, with the opportunity for up to four years or $10,000.聽

The scholarships support post-secondary studies this fall, and are in recognition of the community leadership and volunteerism of the recipients.聽

鈥淚 applied for the award a few months back,鈥� said Mitschke. 鈥淭hrough my work as a mentor I learned about the Ted Rogers Scholarship. I emailed a five-page questionnaire about who I was, and how I have impacted others.聽聽

鈥淎ccompanying the questionnaire were three letters of reference, and a video where I had to answer a topic question.聽聽

鈥淎bout a week or two after I submitted my information, I was shortlisted for the award.鈥澛�

The scholarships are important to Rogers Communications as well.
