One of the largest Canada Day crowds to have ever in recent memory gathered at the Kamsack sports ground turned up last week to wave the flag, eat, drink, play and cheer in celebration of the 148th anniversary of the nation.

A graduation program honouring the 27 senior students of the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute was held June 29 under a mural proclaiming the theme: “We all live under the same sky, but we don’t all have the same horizon.

Drivers of 20 trucks and 11 all-terrain vehicles sloshed through the mud at the highest speeds they could muster, eager to win some of the $2,200 in prizemoney that was offered at the Canada Day mud boggin’ competition in Kamsack.

Perry Wishlow, who has served as CEO at Crossroads Credit Union for 18 months, has departed the organization and Linda Osachoff, who served as the interim CEO in 2013, will once again lead the management team.

The group of students who make up the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute’s 2015 graduating class is all about servitude to others, said Wendy Shabatoski, the guest speaker at the graduation program.

Invermay celebrated many aspects of Canada Day. There was student artwork, poetry and essays about the celebration. The 50th anniversary of the Canadian Flag was celebrated along with Canada’s 148th birthday. It was also Sir John A.

Students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 were acknowledged for their hard work and dedication throughout the school year during an awards program on June 26.

The final student-of-themonth awards for the 2014- 15 school year at Preeceville School were presented on June 19. Crossroads Credit Union sponsors the program.
