The Yorkton Hyundai Terriers nominated forward Alec Zawatsky for the RBC and Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League Community Ambassador award. With the nomination, Zawatsky earned a $1000 donation from RBC that will go to the local school division.

Chantz Pertuic of the Yorkton Hyundai Terriers has been named the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League鈥檚 RBC Player Of The Year, and SGEU Most Valuable Player.

Logan Foster, formerly of Kamsack, is one of three players in the running for the Most Valuable Player in the SJHL. The son of Gwen and Mark Foster of Kamsack, Logan is currently playing in his last year with the SJHL, said Mark.

Ceremony to be held in Yorkton

The Togo Centennial Committee (TCC) sponsored its annual snowmobile derby and, again this year, was not disappointed with the turnout.

Parkland Valley District of the SSFA (Saskatchewan Seniors Fitness Association) held a Cribbage tournament on Tuesday, February 11 at Yorkton Crossing Retirement Community. Ten teams participated and competition was intense.

The Yorkton Hyundai Terriers were in action on home ice tonight, hosting the Melfort Mustangs in Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League action. The Terriers took a home ice lead with the only goal of the first period, a marker from Alec Zawatsky at 17:52.

The Yorkton Sports Hall of Fame and Museum is in need of a few good people. Those people are needed to create a new board of directors, and to act as volunteers in order to revitalize the organization.
